"The clutch of its clawed feet felt like a circuit had been completed in me" – good heavens, what a lovely sentence! Lael, I come here for the music, of course, but I stay for your delightful writing.

Come to la please, I love you so dearly. I’ve had circumstances where I’ve done something that left me to feel a sense of lack purity, but I believe that when doing those acts we subconsciously know that there’s a hidden truth that needs finding and it just happens to be presented in a straight forward manner. I sense your expansion everyday and through it I know what I’m doing is well deserved.

We got budgies when I was 10. They never took to my pedagogically suspect language lessons and were free to fly around the house. But I didn’t know anything then about taking care of another creature, and there is still some guilt, and I have to agree with your teenaged self on owning winged things.

RIP Chief. He was not the first pet to bear the brunt of a teenager’s moral evolution.
